We reserved this doe before she was born. Then, per the contract, we got the pick of three doe kids.
ILEX was a 99th percentile doe and her dam CARRA was a 99th percentile doe. There are only 16 living Saanen 99th percentile does. 99 is as high as USDA goes. ILEX beat the whole herd in milk/fat/protein. 3.2% is as high as Saanen’s go in protein. An upstanding doe with no attachments.
She is a tribute to Cecile Beauchemin, who had the will power to stay on DHI test for years, and to always breed to Sire Summary/Top buck List/ Elite/ Top 15% bucks. Never bothered to show.
She is dying as of April 2016.
